The Personal Information tab is the overall can be accessed in multiple ways, allowing users to quickly find and update their details.
- When creating a new user, and the administrator selects the Edit Button.
- When the administrator clicks on the user's name from the "Manage Users" list (please see instructions: Manage Users Overview.)
Here are the fields and descriptions for the Personal Information tab on the Administration: Users & Permissions page in USA Performance:
User Data Fields
User Avatar – Displays the user’s profile image; administrators may upload (Change Avatar) or remove the picture.
First Name* – Required field for the user’s first name.
Last Name* – Required field for the user’s last name.
Middle Name – Optional field for the user’s middle name or initial.
Social Security Number – Field for entering the user’s SSN (numbers only). Used for identity validation; leave blank to keep the current SSN unchanged.
Confirm Social Security Number – Confirms accuracy by requiring the SSN to be entered a second time.
Clear SSN (Button) – Removes the stored SSN from the user’s record.
Supervisory Code – Indicates the user's supervisory status (e.g., Supervisor, Manager, Non-Supervisory). Used for classification and reporting.
Employment & Organizational Information
Organization – Designates the user’s assigned organizational unit or office.
Bargaining Unit Status – Indicates whether the user is part of a bargaining unit and specifies the unit code (if applicable).
Appointment Type – Identifies the type of federal appointment the user holds (e.g., Permanent, Temporary).
Agency Identifier – Displays the user’s assigned agency or bureau identifier; SSN cannot be entered here.
Contact Information
Email* – Required field showing the user’s official government email address.
Phone Number – Optional contact phone number for the user.
Duty Station Location – Indicates the user's official duty station or work location (e.g., geographic office).
Action Buttons
Save – Saves changes made to the user’s personal information.
Unlock Account – Reactivates a locked account, typically due to failed login attempts or inactivity.
Deactivate – Deactivates the user’s USA Performance account, preventing future access.
Optional actions to complete
- Edit or add additional information on this tab as necessary including a Supervisory Code, Bargaining Unit Status, Appointment Type, Agency Identifier and Avatar.
- The Organization drop down field has a search bar filter for selection.
If changes to the avatar are needed, click Change Avatar.
Click Browse and follow your computer prompts to select an image.
After selecting the image, click Save Avatar. You will receive a confirmation message.
To remove an avatar, click Remove.
You will be asked to confirm your action. Click Yes, Remove.
