The Senior Professional, their Rating Official, Reviewing Official, and administrators (if necessary) may update the Employee and Plan Information section of the SP performance plan. Refer to agency policy for further guidance.
Open an active plan. On the left hand of the screen, a Consultation menu will appear and the Plan Status. On the right hand of the screen, appears the Employee and Plan Information page to initiate the plan creation.
Plan Start and End Date (Appraisal Period)
The Plan Start and End Date reflects the Senior’s Professional performance cycle. These dates default from the assigned rating cycle group. The date values may be adjusted for special circumstances, including alignment to a new professional’s start date.
Use the Plan Start Date and Plan End Date calendar selection to select the new dates. Click Save.
- You may adjust the Plan Start Date and Plan End Date dates values to less than 90 days on plans with a WGI, Interim, Detail, or Separation plan purpose.
Appointment Type
The appointment type is a required selection.
From the drop-down menu, select the appointment type:
- CA – Competitive Service Career or Career Conditional
- Exc – Excepted Service Schedule A, B, or C
- Term – Competitive Service Term
- Temp – Competitive Service Temporary Limited
Plan Purpose
You may update the Plan Purpose field on active plans prior to signatures.
Use the Plan Purpose drop down to select the new plan purpose.

eOPF eligibility
- If applicable, select the checkbox to transmit the plan to eOPF.
- Click Save to save changes. Click Next to proceed to the Critical Elements Page.
