What Does the Administrator Do with Pay Pool?
As an Administrator, you are responsible for setting up and managing the entire Pay Pool process for your organization. Pay Pool cannot begin until an Administrator has completed the required configuration steps. Your setup decisions also affect how the process runs for every role downstream.
Administrator tasks fall into four areas:
- Configure — enable Pay Pool for your organization and set the Higher-Level Review workflow sequence
- Create and designate groups — set up PRB groups specifically for Pay Pool use
- Assign employees — place SES and SP employees into the correct Pay Pool
- Link plans — optionally connect two associated plans for a single employee to provide context during review
Important Notes
- The Admin user must also have the PRB role in order to verify linked plans.
- Admin users have access to PowerBI reports for full historical rating review across all Pay Pool stages.
- "PRB" encompasses both Pay Pool and PRB. When assigning a role to Pay Pool and PRB members, both are classified under "PRB Member."
- Pay Pool Chair ratings filter into the PRB summary, which are then overwritten by the PRB Chair.
- When assigning User Roles:
- PRB Members/Chair role defaults to the Parent Org
- Rating & Reviewing Officials default to the working level org, but officials visible to each plan include:
- Officials from the employee's home org
- Officials from sibling orgs to the employee's home org
- Officials from parent orgs up to 3 levels above the employee's home org (e.g., if the home org is L5, officials from L2–L4 parents are visible)
