Administrators set up Calibration Panels, assign the Calibration Member role to eligible users, assign employees to panels, recover submitted work awaiting reassignment, and manage panels over time. This article explains what you need before you start and points you to each task article in the series.
Before You Begin: Required Permissions
You need Admin Permissions for the organizations you manage to complete the tasks in this series. These permissions allow you to create and manage panels and assignments but do not give you access to panel plans or their content.
If you need to set up or verify your admin permissions, see:
The Setup Sequence
Complete these steps in order when setting up calibration for your organization for the first time. Each step has its own article with full instructions.
-
1
Assign the Calibration Member Role Before anyone can be added to a panel, they must have the Calibration Member role. Assign it through Assign User Roles (bulk) or through an individual's User Roles tab in Manage Users.
-
2
Create a Calibration Panel Set up the panel name and organization, then add at least one Chair and any Members. Panel names must be unique within the top-level agency. A panel with no Chair cannot complete the calibration workflow.
-
3
Assign Employees to the Panel Use Admin → Assign Calibration Panels to assign eligible employees in bulk, or update individual employees through their User Profile → Performance Plans tab.
Recover Work Awaiting Reassignment
If a submitted calibration review no longer has an active panel assignment, you can locate it from Admin → Assign Calibration Panels. Under Show, select Awaiting reassignment.
Clear the panel selection to search across your full authorized organization scope. The displayed results may include submitted appraisals from multiple appraisal years.
