This article covers marking plans ready and releasing them. Before releasing, confirm that you or another Chair has saved a rating for each plan you intend to release — a release without a saved panel rating keeps the original Rating Official rating. For the review and save steps, see Part 1- Panel Chair: Review Plans and Save a Rating.
How to Mark Ready and Release
- Once the Rating Official has submitted their initial ratings to the Calibration Panel, the plan status is automatically moved to Finalize Calibration. Select the plans on the current page using the checkboxes. Note: plan selections clear when you page, sort, or filter — complete your bulk action before navigating.
- Select Move to Ready for Release. This signals the panel's review of those plans is complete.
- To resume review on a plan, use Move to Finalize Calibration. Marking ready does not save or apply any rating. Updates can still be made to a plan while it is in Ready for Release status, but it is advised to move the plan back to Finalize Calibration so that the final releaser is aware the plan is back under review.
- Release the plans. Use Release Selection to release selected ready plans on the current page. Use Release All to release every ready plan in this panel and year — including plans on other pages and those hidden by your current filters.
- Read the confirmation and confirm or cancel. Review the message carefully. There is no undo after release.

Release All includes filtered-out plans Release All releases every plan in the Ready for Release stage in the panel — including plans on other pages and plans your current filters are hiding. A conflict or changed plan can reject the entire requested release. If this occurs, refresh the page and review each plan individually. |
What Happens When a Plan Is Released
| Situation | Result |
| A Chair saved a panel rating before release | The saved panel rating becomes the official rating on the plan. |
| No Chair saved a rating before release | The original Rating Official preliminary rating remains the official rating. The Calibration Panel Rating column stays blank. |
| After release | The plan moves to Calibration Done. The rating phase is locked. The Rating Official can now sign but cannot edit ratings or narratives. |
|
Rating phase stays locked after release After the panel releases a plan, the rating phase remains locked for the Rating Official. Ratings and narratives cannot be changed. The Rating Official signs to confirm the released result. If a correction is needed, contact the Help Desk. |
After Release
Calibration Done rows remain in the list as history. Chair designation alone no longer opens the plan — another authorized relationship must provide access.
